Another volatile year for eCommerce advertising was also another year of massive growth. To better understand what happened during Q4 2021, we analyzed our advertisers’ data on Amazon to help brands make sense of the current trends and respond to shifts in the market.

But how did Amazon ad performance hold up compared to 2020?

When we analyzed our advertisers’ Amazon performance data, we found that:

  • Spend on Sponsored Products ads increased 7% year-over-year, and was flat year-over-year for Sponsored Brands.
  • CPCs increased 14.3% year-over-year for Sponsored Products and up 7.5% year-over-year for Sponsored Brands.
  • Holiday decorations and gifts held the top search spots in Q4.
